Restorative yoga is a gentle practice that is designed to restore, rejuvenate and relax. During restorative yoga, props such as blocks, blankets, and bolsters are used, and poses (asanas) are held for long periods of time.
This type of yoga practice helps relax the mind and body; release tension in tight muscles; improve balance, flexibility and circulation; decrease fatigue; reduce stress reactions; free breathe from congestion; and create a sense of calm throughout the whole body.
